The End of the Beginning - final post (for now!)

March 16, 2007 - August 22, 2007

This is short and my last post as I’m too emotional to really believe I’m leaving and cannot bring myself to close out this blog.

Thanks to all of you who have been so encouraging to me while I’ve been in S. Korea. I have so cherished your prayers, posted comments, our emails, skype and iChat ‘chats’, and letters. I admit I’ve been lonely and homesick on occasion but knowing your friendship and my eventual homecoming kept our hearts knitted as one through Jesus Christ (this is what my dad and mom always tells us when we get down!).

To Dahae -- you are our sister in Christ and adopted into our family. You have been so encouraging to me and Iryna. We pray for your 'homestay' in America soon!! We will miss you but know we also will think of you often. Thanks for all that you did for our family.

Words cannot express our families love and the fellowship we've experienced with the Willing family. We'll always be connected as ONE in Christ. I could take up pages of how you have blessed our family! WE LOVE YOU!!!

The scripture verses Dad suggested I close with are the following;

“And they said to Him, ‘We have here only five loaves and two fish… and He took the five loaves and he two fish, and looking up to heaven, He blessed and broke and gave to the disciples; so they all ate … now those who had eaten were about 5,000 men …’ ” Matthew 14:17-21

We came here with nothing but our experience as a homeschool family and we gave all that we had, believing it to be very meager at times, and left the results to Him; This sustained us when we constantly struggled with ‘are we doing enough?’

“And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance, for you serve the Lord Christ.” Colossians 3:23-24

And we were reminded over and over – including while Mr. Wakefield was here – that we serve an Audience of One ;

An nyong he Kaysayoh South Korea – You will always be in our heart and God willing, we will all be back soon.

This may be the end of the beginning ... but I pray it is also TO BE CONTINUED ...

In Christ,

Sarah

Sarah,

I am so happy that the Wakefields were a blessing to you and that you have been used by the Lord in South Korea! Isn't it a blessing that God blesses us when we follow HIS calling? I pray special blessings on you and your family as you head back to the states and am looking forward to seeing you again. :) Take lots of photos.

Sarah,
I had a GREAT time reading your blog, I was always asking my mom
" can I please check Sarah Patty's blog?"
I thought that you might like the following hymn- "Jesus calls us o'er the tumult of our life's wild restless sea, Day by day His sweet voice soundeth,saying,
'Christian, follow me.'"
-Cecil Frances Alexander
Always follow his call, because He will lead you where he wants you to go.

My dear Sarah,

Reading your blog has been such a joy to me. Even though you were all the way around the world, I felt close to you and your family. I will miss checking in on your blog. You did a beautiful job and I am very proud of you and how your represented your family. May God multiply and bless the seed that you and your family so lovingly planted in Korea.
