This is of Isaac translating for Dad during Great Communicators. It is funny to watch Isaac try to copy Dad while he translates since Dad is SO animated!

This is just before co-op started.

One of Krissy's 3 science discussion groups. They were having fun competing with each other for candy!

Three of Dad's english class students - Isaac who is most fluent in english, Sally whose father is a creation scientist, and Sarah whose parents are one of the high school lead families. They read and discuss articles on current events and other teen related articles. I am in it too! (They didn't know I was taking pictures. The girls especially hate getting their pictures taken!!
My dad thinks it funny (so do I) that he is leading an english class as he says english is not his 1st language!!

Sarah Kim. I FINALLY got a picture of her!

Daniel Lee reading a (Korean) book.
The fastest thumbs in the west! Actually, this is what the kids do whenever they want. Normally it is hidden under the table during the co-op.
We now have four and a half more weeks to go! That is exciting, yet, I have REALLY enjoyed it here and how fast the time has passed! It is amazing to look back and see what a change God has done in my heart. How He changed my attitude about being here, serving with my family, be separated from friends and the 'comforts' of our (new) home. Two weeks before we left, as the reality set in, I began to get resentful and a bit fearful about coming. I did not understand why the Pents had to leave when they did. Gods answer: That is so your family could go! But now, I LOVE it here and want to come back! So please pray for God's will, not my will, to be done with my family and that I will be content regardless of the outcome.
~Sarah
p.s. I need some help. I am writing personal letters of encouragement to each of the highschool girls (one per week). Many of these girls have been in public school all their life and homeschooling is a new and different experience for them as you can imagine. I am including a unique scripture verse with each letter. I would appreciate you sending me your favorite verse(s) and maybe a brief comment of why. Don't worry about the context of what I will be writing and how your verse may fit in. Just send me your favorite verses and God will inspire me to create a special message around it. Or I'll just include it as a special verse from a friend of mine. Thanks in advance! ~ sarah

My favorite verse is Psalms 56:13 (ESV)- "For you have delivered my soul from death, yes, my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of life."
I like this verse because it just really speaks clearly about what God has done for us!
Ellen
Sarah,
One of my favorite verses is-
Philippians 4:8
Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.
Why I like this verse is because it shows us what the Lord wants us to do, so that we can follow His plan.

Sarah,
My favorite verse is Philippians 4:6
"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God."
This verse has helped me to lift everything up to God when I am 'anxious'.

2 Corinthians 12:9 "My grace is sufficient for thee for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I glory in my infirmities that the POWER OF CHRIST MAY REST UPON ME
Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen. Ephesians 3;20-2
Here are a couple of my favorites, Sarah. What a special thing you are doing to write these letters!
We are headed to Jamestown this week, and we will miss the Patty family! Hard to believe that shortly after we get back, you will get home, too!
Make every minute count. As Doug often tells our family, "This is the only day that you have which is today. Make the most of it. Make it count for the Lord. Don't waste any time on selfishness."
Much love,
Beall Phillips
Hey Sarah!! Mom told me you had this blog. Too cool! I really enjoyed your post. God is doing a lot in my life too, and a lot is going on here. I am in a very little co-op with my two friends. We are starting a little drama about 3 sisters. It is so much fun.
I can't wait for you to see Everett. I don't think he was born when you guys left, or was he? I don't know. But he is the cutest baby ever. I miss seeing your face. Well, you can look at my site. It is www.xanga.com/gracie_maggie. You should also give me a call sometime! I would love to hear from you, and we are all praying for you guys. ~Grace
P.S. My favorite verse is James 1:2-4 Count it all joy, my brothers, [1] when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
Sarah:)
James1:17
Every good gift and every perfect gift in from above. and come down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.
Colossians2:7
rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.
Matthew5:8
Blessed are the pure in heart,
for they shall see God.
Colossians3:17
And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.
Psalms19:8
The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart;
The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.
Isaiah40:31

They shall mount up with wighs like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, the shall walk and not faint.
Jeremiah33:3
Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you geat and mighty things, which you do not know.
and this is one of my favorite vers "Acts20:24"
But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received form the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.
Dear Sarah,
What a wonderful idea you have! This summer I have been challenged by the Holy Spirit to not only memorize a verse, but to allow it to go from my head to my heart to my spirit. The verse that is special to me right now is I Corinthians 2:9. "But as it is written, eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him."
God has so much in store for His children, and you and I are His kids!
May God bless you and your family,
Liz Sweet
I found your blog a couple of weeks ago through a friend. I really missed you during orchestra.
I'm glad to find that there are only a few more weeks left until you come back.
Some of my favorite verses are:
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 There is a time for every thing, and a season for every activity under heaven:
a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot,a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away,a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.
Sorry this is so incredibly long.
Olivia (from orchestra)
