Help wanted: Recommend good books

PLEASE COMMENT! We are trying to compile a list of good exciting books to give to Grace Nim. All the children in the highschool co-op read very worldly books. We are trying to encourage them to read good literature in English. Since we don't have our home library with us, we are having a hard time trying to think of good ones off the top of our head. If you can think of some exciting books about anything please take the time to comment. It would be so helpful. Thanks.
P.S. Many of the classics have been translated in to Korean or they read English books.

Are you looking for titles of English books? Are they easy to get over there? Do you need all kinds of grade level reading? Let us know.

Sarah,
I have some books that I found very enjoyable-
The little preacher by Elizabeth Prentiss Stepping heavenward by Elizabeth Prentiss(I think that's how you spell it) Little Women By Louisa may Alcott- Trail blazer books by Jackson-Caddie Woodlawn and Magical melons by Carol Ryrie Brink -
I hope that gives you a good list, and you can look them up to see if you would want them.

I was glad to see Elizabeth suggested Little Women. That is one of my favorite books! There is also the sequel, Little Men. Also, there is the Anne of Green Gables series, and the Elsie Dinsmore series.

Sarah-

I don't have many books that are not based in the U.S. I really liked the Daughters of the Faith series by Wendy Lawton. They are about girls from different periods in history, from different countries, starting from the 1600's going to World War II.They would be more for 5th-6th grade readers. Also, there is the Sower Series;they are biographies about Christian Heroes.Elizabeth already recomended Caddie Woodlawn. That is one of our family's favorites.

Hope I'm not to late to try and help.
